Basic Function:
Provides leadership and senior level sales responsibility within the sales team to ensure organizational Quality, Cost, Development, and Delivery (QCDD) objectives are met for identified programs.
Accountabilities:
Leadership
Visible leader to internal departments (Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Tier One, Warehouse, and Logistics). Ensures business objectives are on track and facilitates cross-functional recovery.
May or may not supervise other sales team members.
Program Management WIN-WIN alternatives to developmental issues.
Quality Involvement in Warranty, JD Powers and parts per million (PPM) improvement.
APQP Ensures all Advance Quality and Planning Procedures (APQP) requirements are understood and achieved.
Purchasing Leads, identifies, and oversees resolutions for critical problem suppliers.
Financial
Ensures profitability initiative through value added/value engineering (VA/VE) initiatives and understanding corporate cost drivers.
Directs process to minimize / eliminate charge backs and to ensure accounts receivables are transacted in a timely and efficient manner. (E.g. customer collections).
Analyzes, monitors, and takes appropriate action based on the divisions profit and loss (P/L) statement.
Advises company and other team members on possible initiatives to achieve sales goals.
Manages the business appropriately to meet growth and profitability targets.
Sales
Ensures creation and retention of business.
Ensures customer deliveries through appropriate forecasting methods and resolution of customer / factory fluctuations.
Advises company and other team members on and identifies prospects for new or replacement business, probes customers, and engages in negotiations and business discussions with customers, to determine their business needs.
Identifies potential opportunities, advises company on future products and services, and provides customers with scope of opportunities.
Quotations and Pricing
Advises and directs request for quote (RFQ) strategy and process with factory, account managers and customer.
Leads sales team and maintains high visibility in price negotiations and renewals.
Achieves and maintains minimum profit margin requirements.
Budget and Midterm Plan
Develops and implements annual sales budget and divisional midterm plan. Monitors actual results versus plan for accuracy.
Management
Raises the Bar: Takes decisive action to meet and surpass goals, takes calculated risks for measured gains and addresses future needs and opportunities.
Plans and Implements: Takes action to outline a plan. Prioritizes steps to be taken, develops contingency plans, and obtains appropriate information.
Enables Team: Leads people towards accomplishing goals through the combined efforts of individuals. Maximizes potential by ensuring that individuals have the necessary skills, information and resources.
Customer Focus/Networking and Influencing
Acts as the voice of the customer by identifying and representing customer needs, concerns, and priorities within ones own organization. Reacts to customers problems, as well as, proactively responds to anticipated customer needs.
Builds or maintains relationships and uses deliberate strategies, accomplished listening, presentation skills and tactics to persuade others. Adapts behavior to fit the cultural elements of each situation.
Knowledge/Reasoning
Consistently maintains and increases knowledge of ones organization, profession, competition, industry and overall marketplace and effectively applies such knowledge by organizing the parts of the problem, situation, etc. in a systematic way and identifying causal relationships.

Reports and Presentations
Creates new product and technology introductions, identifies prospects for new business, tailors presentations to customer needs, relating product to their business strategies.
Makes formal presentations to all customer levels including upper management
Special Projects
Completes special assignments and reports, and present as directed by management.
General
Interprets, enforces, and complies with Company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Initiates, recommends, or provides solutions through designated channels.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Responsible for ISM management as part of the management of staff members, their work and workplace.
Responsible for the management of information security as part of the normal management of the business.
Must cooperate with the Company ISM Professionals in implementing the information security policies
within the Company, and ensures that information is handled in compliance with the Global ISM Related Regulations.
High school diploma and eight (8) years of related experience; or *Bachelors Degree in a related field and six (6) years of related experience.
Two (2) of the required years must be in automotive parts, systems, or components industry.
A proven track record of developing new sales opportunities and closing negotiations.
Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
Demonstrated ability to build rapport and establish a high degree of trust at all organizational levels.
Demonstrated advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint databases, and other computer applications related to the position and assignment.
Prior experience with JOEM customers (Toyota/Honda/Nissan/Mazda) preferred.
JOEM experience with Toyota U.S. or Toyota Japan strongly preferred.
