Plante Moran is the one of the largest accounting and management consulting firms in the nation. Our rapid growth and increasing demands for our services has created a need for a highly motivated individual to join our Accounting team as a Financial Systems Analyst in our Southfield office.
Position Summary
The position of Financial Systems Analyst is part of Plante & Moran’s Internal Accounting team. The team manages the accounting and reporting for the Firm’s 50+ reporting units (multiple offices, entities and consulting/industry groups). Total revenues of the Firm exceed $400M+. The Financial Systems Analyst position will be based in Southfield, Michigan, and will work within Plante & Moran’s Internal Accounting team.
Position Accountabilities
- Key resource to backup and support Financial Systems Manager in application administration for the various systems used in Internal Accounting
- Assists in maintaining data/system integrity. Investigates instances of inconsistent data and works with appropriate parties to resolve them.
- Participates in technology project implementations for the Internal Accounting Team
- Key resource to support Financial Systems Manager for reporting, dashboards and alerts
- Key resource to gather data for populating financial planning database
- Assisting 1900+ partners and staff with reporting and analysis needs as required
- Provides support for the Internal Accounting team to research and resolve data issues or extract data from our systems
Job Requirements
- Understanding of relational database concepts
- SQL Server Management Studio
- Crystal Reporting
- MS Office applications
- Strong understanding of general ledger and associated journal entries
- Understands key performance measures and indicators that drive reporting and analytics
- Understand internal processes and terminology
- Analyze and organize data
- Creative and critical thinking and problem solving
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- communicate verbally and written in a clear concise manner
- promote positive working relationships with diverse personalities/roles at all levels in the firm
- explain and interpret accounting/financial information to non-financial people
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounting/financial reporting experience
- Strong aptitude to technology
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Experience with SQL databases, SQL Reporting Services or Crystal Reports
Hours
- This is an exempt position that may require some Saturday work hours and overtime during workweek.
- Qualified individuals must either reside in or near Southfield, Michigan for this opportunity.
