Construction Superintendent at Clinton Township

This position will be required to travel nationally either by air or truck. Travel, lodging and per diem is paid for by the employer (our typical remodels are2 to 4 week durations).This is not a Project Management Job.Our company works exclusively in the restaurant industry. Restaurant remodel experience and/or Commercial property experience preferred.

Job Duties:The Site Superintendent oversees and directs the daily construction activities at the work site and is considered a working superintendent. They are responsible and accountable for the overall progress of the project as well as the coordination of equipment, materials and contractors as dictated by schedule. Works directly with PM team, in house employees and sub-contractors to complete the project within the given budget and time constraints. Responsible to resolve contract and site disputes with subs and building inspectors and arranges any necessary change orders. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. The Site Superintendent conducts progress walk-thrus, pre-punch walks and final punch walks with PM & customer and coordinates final punch list corrective actions with each subcontractor and ensures completion of all items. Participates in the pre-con meetings with the Project Manager and client.Is responsible for scheduled status and issue resolution updates. This position will have supervisor level authority over both in house Field Technicians as well as the sub-contractors on the job.Site Superintendent is a working hands-on position. Mustknow one or more of the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, and/or Mechanical.Requirements:2-5 years of field experience as a site superintendent with a vast knowledge of all construction trades and processes. Must have excellent communication and record keeping skills and is able to supervise contractors in an appropriate professional manner. Exceptional computer skills and the ability to create spreadsheets.
