Havenwyck Hospitalis a 251-bed, Joint Commission accredited and licensed psychiatric and substance abuse facility overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Mich.We specialize in providing behavioral health and substance abuse services to children, adolescents, and adults.Due to our recent expansion of our award winning acute inpatient and residential programs Havenwyck Hospital has an excellent career opportunity for an experience Intake Clinician position to join our team of compassionate, dedicated clinical professionals. The Intake Clinician obtains initial clinical phone information which is communicated to the physician on call to make a final decision regarding admission. The clinician may also schedule a clinical evaluation if appropriate for the client and contact the physician who will make decision for the appropriate level of care: inpatient, day treatment or outpatient care. He/she will facilitate this process by assisting the client, family and referral sources. He/she also provides information to clients, families and referral sources regarding treatment programs, insurance and admission procedures.
The candidate selected will be responsible for the following
Obtains initial intake information.
Provides clinical assessment and feedback during intake.
Provides information to patients and referral sources regarding treatment programs, insurance information and admission procedures.
Communicates with physicians, program directors, charge nurses, etc. regarding anticipated admission.
Provides follow-up to referral sources and patients awaiting admission.
Performs phone and if qualified by medical staff by laws, face to face screening evaluations to determine appropriateness of admission to the hospital.
Provides consultation to nurses regarding intake information and screenings.
Provides referral assistance for patients assessed as inappropriate for admission.
Maintains accurate census board.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of associates in nursing, bachelor of nursing preferred, or a masters of social work degrees.
  • At least five (5) years of experience providing mental health services, preferably in a psychiatric hospital.
  • Licensed as a registered nurse or a fully licensed master social worker in the State of Michigan.
