Job Description
Reports to the Director of Quality Data and Analysis and is responsible for supporting the departments quality measures reporting processes with emphasis on efficient data management and coordination.
Designs and builds MS Office Access databases and electronic audit tools, and maintains tables, user access and security. Collects, enters, verifies, and transfers data elements into designated programs. Performs periodic crosschecks with other institutional resources to ensure data validity.
Functions as a liaison with information technology personnel and external vendors to facilitate the development and implementation of electronic interfaces for quality department databases. Exports data as requested to specified recipients for inclusion in regional/national databases.
Identifies effective manner and system in which to produce requested information with a high degree of accuracy within defined timelines. Performs calculations and statistical analysis functions related to the monitoring and presentation of quality and safety data. Utilizes multiple hospital systems for the purpose of data abstraction, data entry, validation and presentation of key quality indicators.
Designs, prepares and distributes routine and custom queries and/or reports for analysis and performance improvement activities within the hospital.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Three to five years progressive experience working with business applications software in a professional environment. Knowledge of healthcare quality or health care systems highly desirable.
Requires previous experience and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Access to design, create and manage databases.
Proficient in other Microsoft Office professional applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Highly proficient in problem solving, including assessment of user needs and determining appropriate systems applications or requirements.
High degree of organization and data management skills required. Knowledge of basic statistical concepts, models and procedures preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written. Demonstrated team player.
Ability to coordinate multiple assignments and requests, set priorities and complete work on time with high degree of accuracy.
Ability to research and work independently, with minimal supervision and high degree of accountability.
Educational Requirements
Bachelors degree required.
