Automotive Controls Engineer
Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as an Automotive Controls Engineer will include:
- · Second Shift
- · Provide manufacturing equipment and processes for new and existing projects to include PPAP readiness, FTQ commitments, cost and safety
- · Provide technical engineering support for new and existing equipment projects
- · Provide electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic modifications to existing equipment to enhance performance and safety
- · Coordinate equipment installation and start-up/debug support
- · Provide equipment specifications and generate equipment requests for quotations.
- · Provide manufacturing support on any shift, including weekends
- · Provide on the job training to Maintenance personnel

Job Requirements
As an Automotive Controls Engineer, you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- · Experience in design and/or build of manufacturing systems
- · Extensive experience in machine controls and PLC programming/hardware
- · Competent in PanelBuilder32, FactoryTalk View Studio, RSLogix 5, RSLogix 500, and RSLogix 5000
- · Experience with Power Distribution (high and low voltage)
- · Ability to troubleshoot Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic circuits
- · Competent ability with computer programs
- · Effective problem solving skills
- · Work effectively in a tem environment
- · Ability to lead and complete multiple project simultaneously and under demanding situations
- · Strong degree of self-motivation self-direction
- · Strong communication and documentation skills
- · Associates or Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Preferred or Equivalent Experience (10+ years of work experience)
PREFERRED:
- · Familiarity with instrument panel manufacturing processes, systems, tools and materials
- · Familiar with Injection Molding Machine, robot part pickers, and auxiliary equipment
- · Robotic systems experience (Fanuc, ABB, Kuka)
- · Paint systems experience.
- · Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- · Familiarity with MSD process, PFMEA implementation, Simens processors and Vision Systems (Dalsa, Avalon, IFM efector)
