Prototype Lab Technician

Summary:  Setting up and operating vulcanization and finishing for rubber to metal parts / performance testing

Responsibilities/Description:

 

• Comply with all ISO/TS 16949 policies and procedures.
• Preparing materials for vulcanization or secondary processes.
• Setting up and operating injection/vulcanization machines.
• Setting up and operating any secondary equipment or process required for a finished or raw part as per part drawing/specification, such as:
  • Operation of MTS type performance testing, i.e. static/dynamic rate measurements.
  • Cleaning and de-buffing parts.
  • Finishing, sizing, welding, and assembly of parts.
  • Dimensional layouts and error proofing
  • Preparing packaging and shipping of parts as required.

 

 RequirementsPrototype Lab Technician

Background/Qualification:

• 1 – 3 years machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably rubber to metal, or Associate’s degree in a related field.

Additional Skills: Computer skills, extensive familiarity with the use of measuring equipment, and appropriate professional experience in the area of responsibility described above complete the qualification profile, and will be given special consideration in filling the position.
