Senior Cognos Developer

Our Client in the metro-Detroit market has a need for a Cognos Senior Developer who will be responsible for taking a lead role in the design and development of BI solutions using the Cognos suite of tools. Responsibilities for this role will include:

-Determining feasibility of Business Requirements

-Review business requirements, identify risks and estimate development efforts

-Lead the design and development framework manager models

-Lead the design and development of reports, dashboards and cubes

-Understand the infrastructure and configuration of the Cognos environments

-Monitor development activities to ensure compliance to SDLC

Qualified candidates will have:

-5+ years experience developing complex Cognos framework manager models and reports in large, global organizations

-Strong familiarity with Cognos Transformer modeling

-Hands-on development experience with Cognos BI 8.3 or above (Cognos 10 experience preferred)

-Proficient in SQL

-Experience with Cognos System Administrator module

-Strong understanding of Cognos BI architecture and application performance tuning

Preferred experience:

-Various development and project management methodologies (ex: Agile, Scrum, Iterative, Waterfall, etc.)

-IT Best Practices (ex: CMMI, ITIL, COBIT)

-PMP Certification

-Cognos Mobile and Go! Office
