Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking a Principal Software Engineer who will act as a leader within an extraordinary team that creates world class data driven internet based solutions. The Principal Software Engineer will be responsible for the success of all technical and functional aspects of a given project. This person will also be the technical lead from project inception though the design, implementation, quality assurance and ultimately launch and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Perform the lead technical role in designing and implementing practical, maintainable project solutions
• Maintain a consistent focus on quality for the entire project
• Perform code reviews; developing and adhering to coding standards
• Stays abreast of ever emerging technologies and techniques
• Stays abreast of ever evolving web standards
• Encourage team awareness and appropriate adoption of emerging technologies
• Mentor more junior team members in utilized technical skills
• Work with other departments to ensure high quality and timely delivery

Requirements:

• 10+ years of web programming and architecture experience
• Proven track record as a technical team leader
• Extensive experience with the design and development of data driven web based applications
• Expert in Java (Java Programmer Certified desirable)
• Proficient in servlets, JSP
• Proficient in XML and its role and application in complex software projects
• Proven ability to take leadership in proposing, researching and implementing creative technology solutions
• Expert in HTML, CSS development
• Proficient in both UNIX and Windows environments
