Job Posting Eberspaecher North America is a full-service Tier I supplier, assuming complete responsibility for the conception, development and production of automotive, commercial and off road exhaust systems. We began our North American operation in the year 2000 with three employees. Currently we have six manufacturing sites, a state of the art Technical Center in Novi, MI, and over 900+ employees. As we forge ahead, building on our presence in North America, we are seeking to add to our talented staff.
We currently have an opening for Advanced Quality Engineer for our D-Sedan division.
Position responsibilities and qualifications are as follows: Minimum Qualifications• Bachelors degree (or Bachelor’s equivalency) in Engineering, Quality or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.• 6+ years functioning as a QE or AQE for a Tier 1 automotive supplier, Assemblies experience with multiple components, working with large BOM (100+)• Hands on experience and proficient in APQP, PSO, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, PPAP, MSA, Inspection Gauges, 8D problem solving, and Lean Manufacturing principles• Hands on experience with IMDS• Sound knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T)• Familiar with manufacturing methods and systems.• Knowledge of welding/stamping and materials a plus.• Proficient skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.• Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and technical presentations. • Demonstrate successful performance with independent problem solving, presentations, leadership, and coordinating and completing multiple tasks and projects/programs within and across departments to meet challenging deadlines with complex environments. Primary Responsibilities• Evaluates initial engineering specifications for new products, customers and processes.• Responsible for submission of customer PPAP/PSO and other related requirements.• Develop and maintain product/process control plan and associated error and mistake proofing verification plans.• Develop the plan to identify and inspect customer and internal key characteristics.• Review manufacturing processes to ensure continual conformance to specifications and plan to achieve capability requirements by reduction in variation• Develop part measurement plan (in reference with GD&T) and review dimensional inspection results with manufacturing for improvement opportunities• Ensure Early Product Containment (EPC) plan is developed and being followed for all new products/processes• Regularly review quality tasks and assignments internally and with the customer• Responsible to complete tasks assigned per ENA program launch/APQP gates• Participate in the design of new inspection fixtures, assure completion of repeatability and reliability studies and provide gauge instruction sheets.• Train associates on customer requirements, inspection methods, defect recognition and how to look for quality problems.• Assist production management in establishing and maintaining process control charts/documents.• Coordinates problem solving on designated programs for internal and external concern resolution.• Participate in the approval process for temporary deviation to current product/processes.• Identify opportunities for cost savings, gains in efficiency and overall effectiveness.• Perform other work related duties as assigned If you feel you meet these qualifications or know someone who does, please send your resume to [Click Here to Email Your Resum].
