General Responsibilities:
- Complete psychiatric evaluations at intake and periodic re-evaluations as needed, but at least once per year on assigned patients.
- Review and approve referrals, treatment plans, and case terminations in accordance with Medicaid and other third party payer’s requirements. Certify appropriateness of psychiatric diagnosis.
- Participate in community education and community outreach programs.
- Fulfill mandatory education requirements of CNS.
- Participate in staff development programs.
- Routinely attend interdisciplinary team meetings on assigned clients.
- Identify areas for self-improvement, pursue necessary education/training resources, and share knowledge with others.
- Provide psychiatric direct care to CNS patients.
- Prescribe and review all psychiatric medications on assigned patients. Review medications at least quarterly or more frequently as clinically indicated.
- Participate in treatment and discharge planning meetings, case conferences, medical staff meetings, and special program meetings.
- Consult with client service management staff in response to patient crisis and emergencies. Participate in on- call assignments after hours as directed by the Medial Director. Be available on an “on-call" basis after hours.
- Determine need for routine medical care and referral to other medical providers, specialists or facilities. Assist in coordinating and monitoring physical and mental health status of assigned patients.
Customer Service/Time Management:
- Support and conduct one’s self in a manner consistent with customer service expectations.
- Complete all required documentation completely, accurately, and in a timely manner.
- Maintain consumer confidentiality at all times.
- Account for scheduled work hours through billing, productivity or other approved methods of documentation.
- Meet established productivity standards of the organization.
- Except in emergencies, provide sufficient notice of absence to enable CNS to cover Physicians duties and schedule vacation or other planned leaves with minimum two week advanced notice.
- Comply with applicable policies and procedures of Community Network Services, and contractual requirements as agreed between CNS and Oakland County Community Mental Health Authority.
- Medical Degree in Psychiatry.
- Completion of accredited residency program in adult psychiatry.
- Licensed as a Physician in the State of Michigan.
- Controlled Substance License by the Board of Pharmacy.
- Controlled Substance Certification from Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
- ABPN Certified.
- 5 years experience in psychiatry.
